Delivery Models for Networking Groups Training

Networking Groups have several options for delivering IFMA credential training, allowing flexibility based on local resources, capacity and member needs.

Before offering training to members, networking groups will enter into a formal agreement with IFMA. This agreement outlines the approved delivery model(s) and establishes per-participant pricing, roles and responsibilities.

The descriptions below provide a high-level overview of each delivery option. For implementation, IFMA will supply a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each model, detailing required steps, timelines and operational requirements.

1. Study Groups (Peer-Led Model)

An informal, low-barrier option designed to increase accessibility and participation.

  • Requirement: two or more members must be enrolled in the same program
  • No IFMA Qualified Instructor (IQI) required
  • Participants enroll at the study group pricing tier
  • All online coursework and final assessments must be completed independently
  • Ideal for smaller chapters or early-stage credential adoption
  • Encourage mentorship by another networking groups member who has successfully completed the IFMA program

2. In-Person Instructor-Led Training

A formal, structured training model hosted onsite by the networking groups and led by an instructor.

  • Requires the group to be led by an IFMA Qualified Instructor (IQI) approved for the selected IFMA program
  • Networking groups select the IQI from a list provided by IFMA and negotiates with the instructor for fees and expenses (as applicable)
  • Networking groups follow the required guidelines for class duration and format, as established by IFMA for all in-person instructor-led classes
  • Networking groups determine location and logistics, providing IFMA the participant roster (names and emails) and course details
  • Participants complete online coursework and final assessments independently

3. Virtual Instructor-Led Training

A structured, instructor-led model delivered online.

  • Requires the group to be led by an IFMA Qualified Instructor (IQI) approved for the selected IFMA program
  • Networking groups select the IQI from a list provided by IFMA and negotiates with the instructor for fees (as applicable)
  • Networking groups follow the required guidelines for virtual class duration and format, as established by IFMA for all virtual instructor-led classes
  • Networking groups determine virtual platform and logistics, providing IFMA the participant roster (names and emails) and course details
  • Participants complete online coursework and final assessments independently
